LA Solutions provides GIS consultancy for GeoGraphics users. We are intimately familiar with the OS MasterMap translator for GeoGraphics, and have written applications that exploit the GeoGraphics data provided by MasterMap.
MasterMap delivers a rich set of GIS topographic features that GeoGraphics can make use of immediately on translation. These are the colourful and detailed maps that typically form a backdrop to your own data.
In addition to topographic data, MasterMap also delivers two layers of data, Address and Integrated Traffic Network (ITN), that are more than simply maps. MasterMap's Address layer supplies a full postal address, including post-code. The ITN layer supplies extensive transport routing information, which at the moment mostly covers Great Britain's road network.
Both the Address layer and the ITN layer have minimal graphic data but plenty of alpha-numeric data.
For example, an address is represented on a map with a simple symbol
that belies the address information stored in the project database. By default, GeoGraphics does not know how to
divulge the more interesting data stored behind that symbol.
LA Solutions has written applications that enable you to make better use of your MasterMap data. One example is a utility for the Address layer that enables you to query an address symbol, and see a the address lurking beneath. Other examples apply to the ITN layer.
MapWorks™ is a low-cost map manager. It permits users in your organisation to view maps and other data stored in a GeoGraphics project. It's low-cost because it used Bentley Redline as the viewing tool.
